I only tweaked my meal plan a bit so that I eat extra root vegetables that I would not have when I first started keto.

(Allie) #3

I didn’t have any expectations as I stumbled into keto by accident and didn’t even know it was a thing until a couple of months after I started

#4

LOL. That’s exactly how it went for me. I tried everything for two years to drop my pot-belly, to no avail.
Then…, I stumbled on to this site by chance at 3am, and 6 months later I have a washboard belly. YeeHaww!!

(Allie) #5

I was literally just being lazy and saving time by just cooking a piece of meat with nothing else, and the weight started to drop off so I did some digging… that’s when I found out about keto and macros and the associated issues like electrolytes.

#6

Knowledge is everything. Way to go!

(Irene ) #7

Yes, this is how I started…by .
accident! I just noticed that when I ate curtain foods I would have great BG readings! Then I learned I was keto by what others told me :joy: …so I researched and learned!

#8

That’s what I like about the internet in theses modern days. We have a lot of info at our finger tips that we can weed through. (With both eyes wide open, of coarse. :eyes:

Thanks for this poll. I will come back later to see results from a larger sample size.

(Doug) #10

While of course expectations should always be managed, I only gave this one a 3. I think people - the huge group where insulin resistance/obesity/metabolic syndrome/pre-diabetes/diabetes is a problem - should get going with the extremely low-carbohydrate deal immediately. Plenty of time to research and learn about stuff as one begins ketogenic eating.

Good point.
