Podcast episode 101

(Eric Clément) #1

Hey guys I’m new here but I was just listening to this week’s pod cast with the UK doctor ( episode 101), it suddenly cut out and I can’t find it anymore. I tried to find it in Google Play and on the 2 keto dudes web site. Is it just me or did something happen to the episode

I dowloaded it on my Overcast app, so I have it in full, but it’s not on the “All Episodes” listing. Unfortunately, the dudes will have to reveal (or not) why they pulled it.

Thanks I thought I was going crazy. I was really enjoying the episode.

I got to the 40 minute mark, paused it, and came back it was gone. From everywhere! My instincts tell me its @carl doing some forgotten post editing. Or maybe big pharma got wind of the podcasts, and…

(Eric Clément) #5

Lol wouldn’t suprise me with the topic of the discussion lol

(Eric Clément) #6

It came back up, managed to finish it.

(Jane Reed) #7

No trouble here, downloading it on Beyondpod.

I listened all the way through on my commute in Japan this morning, no problem. Can’t wait for Part 2 to drop next week! Browsing her site today: http://www.zoeharcombe.com/

lol!

I work in broadcasting and I think I know what happened. There was no theme music where Carl and Richard yell “RECIPES!”, so whomever puts the final podcast together forgot to do that. I went back and the refeed has the theme music.

Way to go, Big Pharma!

I didn’t think about the music. That might be why I thought the audio was clearer. I have a hearing deficit from 20 years working around jet engines literally one step away from getting sucked in, or blown away.

In general I don’t like listening to speech with any background noise. It’s near impossible for me to hear. It might as well be white noise.

I have been hoping Keto does some work on my tinnitus. I hear a lot of stories where it’s fixing diabetes to acne. Hair loss to hormone imabalances. It would be awesome if just half of the ringing noises I hear would subside. It’s at least half my hearing problem not being able to hear speech through several distinct constant tones.

Sorry, hrumpy this morning. Had drank my ballistic java yet.

@Robert_Johnson I too hope it helps with tinnitus. 60% hearing loss and I swear half of that is the loud ringing, buzzing, whining noises.

(migorstmarseille) #13

I have tinnitus, too, but mine’s mostly from being a lead guitar player whose amp was a little too loud, plus I stood by the drummer’s crash cymbal a little too long. But I’m with you - I hope my tinnitus abates a bit, but so far I think the sound level damage is the main culprit for me. Hope keto works for yours.

(Eric Clément) #14

I have tinnitus as well from working around jet engines.

The wife has recently developed tinnitus. She keeps wanting to buy all these products that she see on tv and internet adds that claim to repair it. It’s a type of nerve damage (I think, I could be oversimplifing it). IIRC the ‘hairs’ responsible for picking up and transmission of the vibrations to the interior of the ear (too lazy to look this up right now, sorry for the sloppy explanation, wife has me busy today😉) those hairs are different lengths that correspond to different frequencies. When they get damaged from overexposure to high dB of that frequency they get killed off. They don’t grow back (from everything I have heard, no pun intended there). I remember in a sci fi tv show, I think it was Star Gate, one of the characters is too close to an explosion. His ears ringing loudly and he can’t hear. His partner says to him, “enjoy that ringing while it lasts, it’s the last time you’ll hear that frequency again.” Referring to the ringing as a death knoll of those hairs. Maybe it was an episode of Fringe.

Jet engine noise is extremely bad for causing it. I wore double hearing protection. Ear plugs and head sets. But simply yawning is enough to let in a lot of unbaffled sound to the inner ear. And of course you done get warned about that. I worked on F111f’s for over 4 years. They are second to noise level only to the Space shuttles engines.

I too can discern several ‘different sounds’ in the mix. It’s really noticeable when I wear a pair of active noise cancelling headphones, like the Bose. All outside noise gets flattened to nothing. Wow. And then I am left with just my own noise. To me, it seems loud enough that someone sitting next to me should be able to hear it too

#17

Me too it is so loud it’s unbelievable.

If you want an example of a podcast that has top tier audio. The NoAgenda show. Adam Curry is so anal about how the show sounds, it’s amazing. It’s like the best sounding radio show ever. I’ve heard him complain about his co-casters audio sounding horrible, and I. An barely detect it. He’d say, it must be the turrets.

(Cheryl Meyers) #19

Mine is worse this week in my left ear, after sitting next to a speaker at a show by Zane Carney last Saturday night. He was good, but dang, hate this ringing going on.

(Eric Clément) #20

Mine is constant, always on type of deal. Most times I have to have white noise in order to sleep.
