Hell no Hahahahahaahha had a full hysterectomy in April… So no chance there… I want to know why I’m not losing… Had the 6kg water weight loss and now nothing and everything as in ketotic and my Ketones blood tests show not in ketosis… Well and truly under my 19g carbs daily so what is going wrong y is my bgl so high?
You’re likely not doing anything wrong, just being impatient. It’s a process that takes time. Ease up on yourself as the stress won’t help.
Are you using sugar substitutes?
If you are, When you eat something sweet that has no actual sugars in it the sweet receptors in our mouth spike insulin in anticipation of incoming carbohydrates. This is why I think using sweeteners on a lchf diet is a self-defeating habit. Now there’s insulin available to store some of the incoming fat that’s usually accompanying the sweetener.
This article is very technical but shows the link between sweet receptor activation and insulin secretion:
If your not using sweeteners, are accurately counting your carb intake and your keeping your protein in check then I’m at a loss.
I was having a lemon cordial that had sucralose in it…i have now stopped this and simply use some lemon juice instead… I only stopped this last night as I thought maybe that was it… Would lemon juice do the same?
I don’t have an answer to that. I guess it depends on how much and how frequently you were consuming artificial sweeteners. I know they have an effect on insulin but I’m not sure what the effect on ketones would be. Maybe someone more knowledgeable in that area will chime in.
Even at 0.1 it still means your body is producing ketones and that means you’re in ketosis. Don’t get caught up chasing numbers and try to look for other benefits rather than just the number on the scale. Also try and shift your focus to improving health and doing the best possible things for your body and fat loss will follow.
Your weight loss in only a month says otherwise! My ketone levels always suck. I never buy the strips anymore. Their good to test yourself at first to see reactions but they’re garbage as far as a indicator for weight loss.
My focus has always been health… I NEED to do this for me… There is a huge diabetes link in my family, heart disease and strokes, I had gestational diabetes and am (according to charts) " morbidly obese" I get so sore some mornings from joint pain that I can barely move, I have a 12 year old back injury and am a nurse. So yes definitely health above anything else … Thanks for the input though still learning and any morsels of info help.
I saw this posted by another user (sorry I don’t remember the name ) on a different thread and thought it might be of interest to you:

Also, if your body is efficiently using the ketones as fuel .1-.4 is not necessarily bad or “too” low from what I’ve read.
I think this sums it up.
You dropped some water weight for sure, but now that the weight loss hasn’t continued linearly you are being impatient. This isn’t a stall. If you’re still stuck in a few months’ time I would call it a stall. It is very common to stop losing for a few days to weeks then have a woosh and lose.
Stop being impatient, stop being hard on yourself, stop over-analysing. Try taking photos and measurements as opposed to religious weighing.
Much love <3
