Plateau

(Tina Brown) #1

I have lost a solid 10 pounds quickly…water I’m sure. Now I have plateaued and today my ketone level is 5.0 before breakfast via a blood monitor. My ketones have been holding around 2.5 - 3 when I was losing. Am I being impatient? Should I change anything?

Post Induction Stall Syndrome (PISS)

It isn’t uncommon to lose weight in fits and spurts. Just your body working out a new strategy when you change things up…

I’m on a plateau myself

Trust you are weighing every day?

I do too; I’m 2 months in and as you may expect there are regular plateau’s. I’m at the 10lb I wish to loose and plateau a lot easier; my longest was 6 days after a ‘cheat’ day and some other issues (hypertension, sleep etc).

I also lost fairly easy on 2 meals until around 50% towards target weight; I now find One meal a day (usually lunch) breaks the stall; however I’m having 2 meals on and off depending on how hungry I am (I’m not planning to starve myself if I need food).

I’ll probably also think about some 24+ fasts towards the end of the month if I feel very healthy.

One of the up sides of weighing ever day is of course the instant feed back, however as I’m sure we both know that can over feed anxiety and questions; but in my opinion weighing every day also produces more precise long term trends. (but most of my friends who are losing prefer to weigh once per week or less; I’m too OCD for that!

Plateau myself. I’m getting closer to my goal weight so I think my body is talking to me. I have however started tracking my macros again to make sure I’m not taking in too much fat and that I’m getting my protein. I’m suspecting this may be my issue. I’m typically on a 20/4 eating time other than full fat coffee in the am and I’m finding hard to get all the protein I need for maintenance.

You haven’t told us much. How long have you been doing Keto? How long have you been on the plataue?

I started June 13th and have not lost any for a week and a half. After looking at my notes, it started when I wasn’t eating enough calories. I’m just not as hungry…so I’m thinking I’m in starvation ketosis. My ketone levels are higher also.
