Planting winter veg

(Alec) #1

Now, being almost carnivore, planting veg seems like an exercise in futility. :joy::joy::joy:

But I love growing fruit and veg… just need to keep the eating bit under control and in small amounts.

So, any opinions on good keto veg I could plant in the winter? (I am Down Under)

What I planted today is red onion, baby cauli, broccolini, and sugar snap peas. Any other ideas for good or better winter keto veg to plant? And no jokes about planting chickens please. I’ve heard them all! (Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to Alec’s veg patch)

Doesn’t look much, but those little weedy looking bits of green are seedlings. Let’s hope Mr Hare has gone on his holidays.

All the herbs: dill, parsley, oregano, tarragon… I’ve just planted all of these…Rocket and garlic too as I like condiments with my meat

Kale or collard greens. I don’t know what winter means to you in Australia! :joy: Does it mean it’s not 30-40C everyday and goes down to 25C ?

I would if it were that easy.

I could do some greens/lettuce. But I am really don’t eat them any more unless provided in a cafe. I would not choose them for a meal. I used to eat a fair bit of spinach, but that’s gone now too.
