Pizza Hut's crispy bone in wings are bad, m'kay

I really wish I would have looked up the nutritional information before eating 6 wings. I was with a group of co-workers playing a board game. I hate the conversation around what I can and can’t eat and having everyone make compromises for my requirements. When pizza came up, I said I could do wings and everyone was happy.

Turns out the wings were lightly breaded. It did not look like much so I went ahead and ate 6. Turns out it was 48g of cards. I can feel it in my blood, my body feels warm, and I am getting that general high(er) blood sugar feeling that was so familiar to me before keto. So disappointed.

Oh, well. I guess tomorrow is a new day and things like this happen. I am really hoping I don’t feel too bad tomorrow.

Carb creep, it happens. I still mess up sometimes and I feel it.

Tomorrow is a new day to keto on.

I’ve done that a few times. Wanted to be easily adaptable for a social event and realized I had just a smidge too much once I really tallied later. Sometimes I just don’t want to have that discussion or be “that person” a “oh don’t worry about me order what you guys want” here and a “try this I made it” there…boom! Anyway, tomorrow is another day

Which wings did you get? I get pizza hut traditional wings all the time, but if you check their nutritional calculator you’ll find there’s a huge carb difference between the flavors, even for flavors that are usually safe (the regular buffalo wings, for instance, have a bunch of carbs per).
Nutrition Claculator for pizzahut

The Garlic Parmasean, naked, and the various “rubs” appear fine, though you may still need to watch how many as <1 g per wing can still add up.

Not all pizza huts have those flavors available, though I’d think naked is available everywhere.

I got the Burning Hot Buffalo. Normally, buffalo sauce is safe, butter and hot sauce, what could go wrong? Even with the traditional wings, the sauce is 8g of carbs.

I did not realize the difference between “crispy” and “traditional”. My favorite place to get wings I order them crispy all the time which means they deep fry them a bit longer than normal. At Pizza Hut it means lightly breaded. I should have known.

Live and learn I guess.

Yea, at most places buffalo is safe. At Pizzahut, regardless of anything else, it’s at least 5g carbs per wing. I’m not familiar with a crispy option at pizza hut (I’ve only ever seen traditional bone in and bone out options, is that just something you asked for that isn’t on the menu?), so I don’t know about that point, but sounds like most your carbs came from the sauce choice rather than the crispy option (though also sounds like crispy added 3 carbs per wing, which puts it almost at th 9g per wing for the bone out option).
