I used to eat a lot of lemons and oranges. Maybe Vitamin C deficiency?

Given that some of the potential causes are pretty serious, I urge you to talk to your doctor about this. I think you would probably know it if you had scarlet fever or one of the hemorrhagic fevers, but get cytomegalovirus and strep throat ruled out as well.
I take it you haven’t delivered any children lately? My mother developed petechiae on her face and chest while straining to deliver me, but they apparently went away pretty quickly.

I’ve had a few episodes of petichiae in my life, usually on my thighs. The first time, I was really freaked out and saw my doctor, who sent me to a dermatologist. Did testing that showed absolutely nothing going on. Last time was about a month ago. Oddly enough, not long after they disappeared, I started to bruise more easily again. My best guess is that they’re related to sun exposure and to the Plaquenil I took years ago. Have you ever been diagnosed with any type of autoimmune thing?
I’ve started taking vitamin C when I remember, just in case, but still bruising easily. Maybe you’ll get a better answer from your docs than I got from mine, which was basically a shoulder shrug, after my tests all came back fine. They were SURE my platelets would be low, but they weren’t. Let us know if you do.

Are they pinpoint sized? Could they be cherry angionomas. Old age stuff. I have had those lazered.

Cherry angiomas are usually larger than petichae and not “clustered” the way petichiae usually are. They’re often slightly raised as well, while petichiae are flat. As the article says, they’re nothing at all to worry about. I have some of these too.

Yeah, I’ve heard the old age theory but REFUSE to believe it. 
Mine usually disappear on their own, I just suddenly have a lot, and a larger one on the forearm. If it doesn’t fade I will probably have it lasered off.

In my case, it’s the Plaquenil I took a million years ago that I think leads to petichiae after spending time in the sun. Normal sun exposure wouldn’t do it, I don’t think. I think what you have is probably cherry angiomas, hate to enforce the old age theory lol.

If these are really petechiae, you would want to rule out low platelets due to cancer or autoimmune disorders, etc. since these can be really serious. That would take a visit to the doctor.
I have a niece who almost died when she was 10 because her platelets dropped so low. The only symptom were her petechiae (which her nurse mother recognized) and a nose bleed which wouldn’t stop. My sister took my niece to the ER in the hospital where she worked and had to insist they test her CBC and clotting factors. They were all pooh, poohing her concerns, until they got the test results back. Then they immediately admitted and infused her. It turned out to be easily treatable (which involved daily testing and injections over about a four week period, if I recall correctly) and she has been fine ever since, but still nothing to mess around with.

I am taking Vitamin C supplements and eating more cabbage. The keto diet is quite low on C, so I am confident supplementing will help.

Calm down. I walked halfway up a small mountain today. All is well. I just realized I need vitamins on Keto - the Keto diet requires a lot of supplements.
