Pesticides keto vs sad

(Vic) #1

I was wandering. Which woe requires most pesticides and other poison to produce

Sad?
Keto?
Carnivore?
Vegan?

Is it a big difference?

Probably vegan…?

Pesticides are used primarily for vegetable crops.

very interesting. Never thought of it in that way…I think of what is ā€˜poison’ to our bodies but not how bad the food is to produce for the planet and create poisons as a byproduct.

I rate it like this:

Worst SAD because they eat it all. From pesticides to creating chemical slurries that then create poisonous runoff from those concoctions and bad junk created when processing that boxed crap food is done…alot of bad waste and more.

if just pesticides…then vegan.

Vegan is next.

Keto is next.

Carnivore is least invasive as poison in your body and poison you create for the planet.

Yea, yea I am cool with that rating  that was fun to put those into a rate category of what is worst in pesticides and poisoning of the planet created.

What about the food needed to feed livestock?
Any pesticides involved in that?
What does grain finished actually mean in terms of nasty liquids spraying?

#7

very true but I think the amt of agriculture vs. just livestock on pasture is still gonna be worse. Not only 1 pesticide is used for fruit, but quite a few ya know. Not only 1 fungicide is used for fruit tree control but many so I still think plant agriculture to feed humans thru all seasons of plant production, which can be forced thru greenhouse and more but still require chemicals for production, trumps over livestock feed/product more. Grains is feed but pineapples, mangos, coconuts and all those products derived from those plants being grown for those purpose vs. also grown for human consumption would tower over feeding livestock cause the grains are part of that agriculture right that heads to livestock maintenance, but not crops like broccoli on the shelf to buy or any fruits or any other legumes, tubers and more etc. So I still think that veg/crops/fruit trumps what livestock would handle if we went lb. for lb. for pesticide use and what industry takes high demand over that part.

that make sense, way I see it. plants take heavier toll in all truth for the amt of veg over the planet and what is consumed by my thoughts.

Depending on pesticides used, I think our woe would result in the highest pesticide rate. If you look at energy pyramids and how much energy is ā€œlost/usedā€ by each trophic level until we can eat from the top levels, I would imagine that would mean our food source would have to consume large energy sources itself. This may lead to the bioaccumulation of pesticides, assuming they can not be released from our food source. If they can, then we would have a lower pesticide accumulation. Then, you also have antibiotic use in livestock. Although not a pesticide, it should be included as dangerous since it can lead to harmful issues.
Even after all this, I will still stick to keto.

Most grasslands don’t need weed control. It’s monocropping that creates that need.

See some of the excellent lectures by Alan Savory, Peter Ballerstedt, and Joel Salatin.
