Perspiring while sleeping on keto?

Does everyone else wake up a little funky on keto? I’ve noticed that since going keto I will wake up a tad sweaty in the am. I do believe this coincides with burning fat overnight, so I’m ok :ok_hand: with it… Is this happening to everyone else here at well?

It happens to me often enough that it is one of the reasons I prefer to eat my IF window earlier in the day and skip dinner since it does more than just make me sweat or sleep only with a sheet even when it’s cold.

Just the opposite for me. I had terrible night sweats as a carb burner now it never happens. I can not remember if I was still having them during the adaptation period.

I think I commented about this in another post. Yes, I get that sometimes too. There are some explanations in that post.

I would sweat at night with the room temp at 64 degrees. Non strenuous or mild exertion would have sweat pouring off. Since keto, I hardly sweat at all and never at night.

I also rarely sweat during non-sleep hours as well. There are exceptions, such as exercise but for the most part I am sweat free.

Maybe its not sweat-/ but an odor?

While I was adapting I could definitely smell the acetone in my breath, especially when I first woke up, and when I exercised my sweat was particularly smelly and still can be at times but not as often as before. But once I was fully adapted and I was producing and using the ketones more efficiently the smell for the most part went away. Rarely unless I am doing some serious exercise can I detect it.

Opposite reaction for me.

YES! This happened to me twice last week. I wake up drenched in sweat. As in did-I-seriously-just-wet-the-bed-as-a-grown-adult drenched. It also happened a couple times about 6 months ago, but kinda wrote it off when it went away. I’d love to know what’s causing it. I can’t see any patterns like eating certain foods or at certain times.

Edited: I totally thought this was my post because it is the same topic I posted a few weeks ago and I got a notification haha!

I used to wake up sweaty but it stopped after several weeks.

That’s why I thought I was commenting on my post.:grimacing:

I haven’t woken up sweaty since making that post. Thankfully!

Nice to find other folks talking about waking up sweating. I’ve been keto over a year and still sweat at night. I’m not sure why but it seems like my body is still fighting the dawn effect? The timing of the sweating coincidences with it. I’m an oddball all the way around here as my blood pressure has been very high at times throughout the day. Seems to go along with IF. My body is still fighting this change after a year. No wonder after years of high carb.

My experience is the opposite. Used to sweat while sleeping, but not any more.
