Perfect Keto products

(Angel Kolb) #1

Hello there. I’m ‘new’ to this keto lifestyle. Its time for me to get rid of my CARB cravings. I’m 45, and have constant belly-bloat. I am not a large person. Actually I used to be a competitive bodybuilder. I no longer am building, as I’m trying to just be leaner and maintain some muscle definition. Anyways, I’ve been using the perfect keto products. I love adding them time my coffee am and mid-afternoon. Do any of you use them, and if so, your thoughts.

Those products are great if you want that energy for a short period of time, but you body might not be adapted to consuming them.

Are you monitoring ketosis with urine or blood sugar trips?

Are you monitoring glucose?

Is your body fat adapted?

I use the perfect keto exogenous ketones and I really love them! I usually use them in the afternoons as I leave work and head to either school or the gym.

A lot of people on this forum think they are silly, and that if you consume them you are just making expensive pee. I see a real difference in using them and still lose weight. I think they’re a great tool in the keto lifestyle for those who have bush lives or need quick energy :+1:t3:

An expensive supplement with only anecdotal evidence to suggest any benefit. And zero knowledge on potential long term harm. I would just spend the money on mct oil or steaks, but that’s me. I haven’t tried them so can only make assumptions based on the science of the human physiology

There is more than just anecdotal evidence of benefits, as listed at the bottom of this article.

Well, clearly I’m not up to date on the research being conducted. I do have to point out that your reference site does sell that crap, so probably not the most unbiased. I see that they cited real studies but I’m not going to take the time to research as i have no interest. On that note, i won’t continue to offer my opinion if I’m not going to take time to do the research. If they make you feel better, enjoy. Hopefully you don’t grow a third arm from long term ingestion of Franken ketones. Maybe I’m just jelly because I can’t afford them

I did not see the website sells them, thanks for pointing that out!

I have purchase just one container in the year I have been keto, I use them sparingly as I sure as heck can’t afford buying them every month either. But when I use them, they do work well

Cool. What do you feel are the benefits you’ve seen? Do you measure ketones, weight loss, blood sugar? Just interested in what benefits people feel while using. I’ve heard about energy levels. I just took 2tbsp butter and 3 tbsp mct in my coffee to hit the weights and feeling pretty jacked. Just wondering what specific benefits people gain from using. I saw that there was research on cancer and some other research taking place but more interested in personal experience anf thoughts

I mostly use it for energy and mental clarity. I am a teacher and it’s hard to prepare anything near the end of the day while at school, so a little ketones in water does the trick and I finish up the day with my crazy teenagers and get ready to head to the gym or go to night class. They help me get through my very long days

I get frustrated when others use it as a shortcut to ketosis. I just see it as another tool for me in my arsenal.

Interesting. I wonder if you could get a similar benefit from mct oil since it’s fast acting and likely cheaper. I primarily discourage exogenous ketones for people who are not fat adapted and try to game the body. The presence of ketones and high blood sugar and insulin may not be a good thing. If it helps you maintain your livelihood then that’s great

I listened to the latest 2 Keto Dudes podcast this evening which was a replay of a Break Nutrition podcast that featured Richard. There was a discussion in the first half hour about exogenous ketones. I think Richard and the hosts brought up some very good arguments against using them.

I buy the perfect keto MCT powder I enjoy it in my coffee but the rest of their stuff I don’t touch

bought some exogenous ketones as well, trying to find other means for the energy I feel I get from them. going to try a little more MCT to ghee in my BPC this morn. I say if its not “bad” for you, do what makes you feel good!! I have done very little research on them, btw, just a proponent of feeling good

I went through the “get this helpful keto wonder-product” phase a while ago. I do see that exo-ketones may, may be helpful to some, but honestly, I think 99% of people wouldn’t get any real benefit from them. In the case of, say, research being done by the likes of Dom D’Agostino (researching ketone supplementation for things like anti-seizure treatments, and hyperbaric oxygen toxicity in Navy SEALS and other spec-ops war-fighters) I can totally see exo-ketones being very efficacious.

For someone wanting to lose 25lbs, or wanting a boost of energy?

…I think a shot of straight MCT oil, or eating a pat of butter is likely as good or better, and vastly more cost-effective.
