Perfect fit

After 2 months progressing on to keto my 34" blue jeans are starting to look like I got them at a thrift shop so I stopped at walmart, tried on 32’s and, voila, a perfect fit. 2 pairs went into the cart.

I got to this point, according to cronometer, by burning 2,000 calories and eating 1500 day in and day out. Now I’m thinking that’s not the optimal approach. Should I be eating break even calories then, may be every 7-10 days skipping three meals in row? I work, long hours. At first I didn’t have the confidence to skip 3 meals on a work day but may be now it’s realistic. Is the theory to keep metabolic rate higher by eating more calories then occaisionally bushwacking my metabolism by skipping a day of eating? I’ll try to loose a few more pounds because washboard abs sounds cool.

I have noticed I can do 30 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of strength training on a fasting day with no apparent problems. The keto style of hunger seems to be low level and just comes and goes

Love how you are putting some thought into this!

Here’s what Im thinking about. I’m past retirement but still working. Why? I have plenty saved up to cover the cost of living. But what about the cost of dying? 10 years in some assisted care place with some punk tying my shoes and wiping my behind sounds like a fate worse than death. How about let’s do that dying thing at home, independent. That’s something that money can’t buy, not me at least. To be retiired I’d better be in great shape. It finally dawned on me that health is money in the bank, more reassuring than big account balances. What’s left then? Diet and exercise. Money can’t buy those. My employer would have me working 75 hours a week. I’m working 60 hours and using the time to do my cardio and lifting and learning keto. I’m passing up a LOT of money but what’s the money going to do for me if I’m frail or dead?

Your heath and time are more valuable than money. Get sick and see if you don’t agree.

I read the article. 2 months is long enough on my current pattern, time to play a different hunger game.

I worked a half day today, (saturday). Skipped morning food as usual and didn’t take anything to work for mid day (the concept of meal times with quaint names seems to be fading). It’s only a few hours until bed time so why not skip eating today and have a generous bacon and eggs breakfast tomorrow and see what happens after that. It might be less pressure for me to “fast” without planning ahead.
