Peanut butter

ohk. So many of you know that right now I don’t have access to my usual fat sources. So I’m thinking homemade peanut butter? little kosher salt, some coconut oil, some roasted peanuts? how much should i eat? (I want to lose weight. I’m not on maintenance. )

Height?

Weight?

Activity level?

Body fat percentage?

Age?

All of these are inputs to one of the many Keto calculators available online, which can provide a recommendation on macros as well as calories towards a desired deficit.

Are you fat adapted?
If you are fat adapted then the calories have less influence.

What other nuts do you have easy access to? Peanuts are on the high side. Almonds are better, macadamias are great.

Here is a good chart. You will notice Almonds are higher than peanuts

Peanuts have issues as lectins. Not everyone reacts well to them

Well that’s good to know. Now I wonder why I’ve been eating almond butter. Peanut butter is cheaper and tastes better.

The butter may not be the same. They add sugar to most commercial peanut butter. Peanuts are not a nut

Maybe that’s why I tought almonds were lower. Thankfully I get my peanut butter from a local grower/roaster and it’s just peanuts.

I don’t buy either of them, I make them…so I know for sure that it’s stevia and peanut and coconut oil. That’s it. But how much should I eat? I thought peanuts are high carb.

I have access to almonds. Not Brazil or macadamia or pecan.
