If you have two+ hours, try listening to this:
Somehow, Dr. Paul Saladino went from Carnivore King to thinking that he needs raw honey for “metabolic flexibility” and that we long-time keto-ers don’t have enough “metabolic flexibility”.
He and the dietician did discuss one person who was getting 120+ blood sugar in the mornings several years after starting keto. They were concerned about that, as am I. I don’t know what that means.
On the other hand, I have been low carb/keto since 1/1/14, started taking data in June 2016, and my morning blood sugar is about the same. Here’s from June 2016, where my blood sugar meter was terrible:
Here’s my last data (before I stopped testing), using my fourth different glucose pin-prick meter:
Over this time, my morning blood sugar seems to be about the same, if not a bit lower.
So, why the concern about “metabolic inflexibility” for keto people? Should I be concerned if I eat carbs and my blood sugar goes higher than it would if were eating more carbs?
Is anyone here concerned about this?
Has anyone experienced rising morning blood sugar, and if so, are you concerned about it?
