Palm oil is awesome for keto!
Equal in saturated and unsaturated fats!
What is even more awesome is this stuff, WOW!
Extra virgin!
Palm oil and palm kernel oil are both safe for keto. Palm kernel oil is similar to coconut oil in it’s fatty acid makeup. Just make sure it isn’t partially hydrogenated.
For optimal health in today’s food environment, the challenge is to get less ω-6 fatty acid, not more, because of the inflammatory effect it has when ingested in any kind of quantity.
Polyunsaturated fatty acids also tend to break down under heat. So use oils and fats that are mostly saturated and monounsaturated. This makes butter/ghee, tallow, lard, and bacon grease the best fats to cook with. Save your avocado, coconut, and olive oil for your mayonnaise and salad dressings.
