First be sure you are getting enough salt. The recommended allowance is way too low, especially on a Keto diet. When insulin levels are low, the kidneys allow salt to filter out. So you would need to increase salt intake to compensate.

I have been having cramps in places I’ve never cramped before. Like the bottom of my feet. Upping both my salt and potassium levels seemed to fix that.

I have experienced something else though. Old pains returning. Back in 1990 I was crushed between an aircraft power unit, we called a -60. It’s a jet engine on wheels. We would tow it around the flight line from aircraft to aircraft to apply electrical power. While hooking one up to our pickup truck, on a slight downward incline, the beast started to go a little faster than we were walking it. I was at the front, steering it. The tow bar to it, attached to the front axel for turning, think little red wagon, it has a dead mans break. So if you release it, it is spring loaded to the up position, forcing the breaks to come on. So as the -60 picked up speed, I didn’t want it to slam into the truck, so I released the tow bar, and it went faster! I tried to dive out of the way, it caught my leg, and my upper torso was crushed between the tailgate of the truck and the -60. It was just short of breaking my ribs. Knocked the air out of me. I nearly passed out because I couldn’t breath for about 3 minutes. Not a gasp. Bruised my ribs up good. Seperating tissue from the ribs, forcing air out of my lungs into surrounding tissue (pneumothorax it’s called, I think). I was in the ER for almost two days. Spent another week recovering before I could return to work.

It took about 10 years for the repeated flare ups of pain to subside. I’m talking kidney stone type pain. Felt like I was being crushed all over again, and it happened quite regularly. At least once a week. Or, if I made a sudden move, like trying not to drop something, and catch it. For the longest time everyone thought I was having heart attacks.

Now on Keto, after losing nearly 50 pounds now in the past 5 months, my pains are starting up again. If I cough or sneeze, it’s extremly painful. Like getting hit in the chest with a high speed basket ball, yes, I’m familiar with that🙄.

It seems to be subsiding now though. I’m beginning to correlate it with electrolytes. When I picked up my routine of added salt and potassium, the pains are less and less. But not gone.

Here, this is a -60 (dash sixty)

It’s probably an electrolyte issue then. When was last time you had lab work done. I don’t know how much it costs, but it should be worth it once in a while to be proactive anyway. I get mine free, just a little perk of living through my 20 yrs in the military.

I guess any accident you walk away from isn’t so bad. I have been in a long list of them too. None of them my fault, just wrong place at the wrong time. Lived through them all. I’m starting to think I should write a book. I’ve had more close calls than I can count without taking my shoes off.
