Packaged Foods vs. Whole Foods

(Michelle) #1

I want to get more whole foods in my diet, however, when I do a mental inventory of what I eat, there is a fair amount of packaging. Things like bacon, salami, sausage, cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and pork rinds. Do you worry about the “packaged” foods here? Or am I the only one focused on this??

I really don’t want to do away with these staples completely…

I think you should consider “processing” over “packaging”. I eat meat every day, yet it comes in packaging, but it’s a whole, unprocessed food (beyond the butchering). My butter and coconut oil comes in packaging.

Think along the lines of not eating prepared pre-packaged meals, “low-fat” anything.

The list of foods you gave above are perfectly keto, and OK to eat.
