I was a Marine, so I can attest to the odd diet they put “fat bodies” as they would refer to them on when I was in bootcamp. Generally it involved just a plate of 1/2 of what we ate. Seems they are trying a dietitian now, but it’s not too impressive. Better than what they had probably, but people are just exploding in weight anyway from high processed foods/carbs. My husband was an Air Force pilot for 32 years. He spent at least 31 of them worrying about making weight for physicals. From what I see today at the BX and commissary, they’ve relaxed the weight requirements somewhat.

I can imagine, my last few years I had to be taped for body fat measurement. The military height weight chart at the time reflected the one doctors use I think. Now since they are having a hard time finding recruits that make the cut with weight ratio they have relaxed the height weight requirements.
Current policy requires service members to maintain body fat levels below a key threshold: 28 percent for men and 36 percent for women.
