Oregon Keto Friendly Doctor?

(Todd) #1

HELP! I am looking for a low carb friendly PCP doctor in the Corvallis/Eugene/Salem Oregon area?

Is it possible that databases for this information have been started out there? Seems to me I remember Jimmy Moore had one.

Here is a list of the databases I have created, but please check the doctor’s offices directly if calling an obesity or functional specialist to be sure it is truly LC.

How to Find a Doctor Supportive of LC/Keto/Paleo Diets

There are a number of resources to help you find medical care supportive of a reduced carbohydrate way of eating. Some lists include not only medical doctors, but chiropractors, naturopaths, nutritionists, RDs, etc. Some are for general practitioners, some for Obesity specialists. With any recommendation, check the website/reviews or phone the office directly to learn more about the doctor’s philosophy on diet.

ObesityMedicine.org (New name for the ASBP)

Click Find a Clinician. Members may use other non-surgical plans, not necessarily a LC diet, but many are now being trained in LC by Eric Westman, chairman and past president.

FoodMed’s Low Carb Map of the World (International): http://foodmed.net/gd-home/

Paleo Physicians Network (International): http://paleophysiciansnetwork.com

Find a Low Carb Doctor: http://lowcarbdoctors.blogspot.com

Institute for Functional Medicine: https://www.functionalmedicine.org

Click Find a Practitioner. Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease. Diet may not be low carb.

There are also many Low Carb RDs and Diabetes Educators around the world, and most offer consulting via Skype.

And of course, Google Low Carb plus the state or other location.

If you would be willing to head south to Ashland, I receive this doctor’s newsletter. http://www.drdeborahmd.com

I know this post was awhile ago, but I started seeing Jeanette Welker, NP at Oregon Optimal Health in Eugene and really like her. She is extremely keto and fasting friendly. https://www.oregonoptimalhealth.com
