Oranges šŸŠ- sore joints

carnivore

(bulkbiker) #21

The only person on the forum who has ever mentioned ā€œex-carnivoreā€ is you on the post above…

I’d be interested to read anything you have… but so far during this conversation there has been nothing…

@FrankoBear

Apologies for hijacking your post but things are getting a bit crazy on the forum these days…

It’s fine Mark. I like you and Bunny both. You are passionate contributors.

Now. My dearest Bunny. That’s all good stuff for me to consider.

Is there anything in your wide reading about modern oranges?

I’m not fully carnivore (yet?). A 21 day steak and eggs based carnivore trial I did came undone with a night in hospital with very mild cardiac arrhythmia.

So I’m easing back to it more gradually rather than going cold turkey pattie.

The aim is some more strength, hence increased protein. I want to swim and surf in some pretty treacherous seas, and I want to be able to carry 40kg of water container in each hand as I walk up and down my land building a food forest.

The oranges are local and end of season, so I thought I’d see what would happen as an experiment. I didn’t expect the symptoms I got.

I heard a super 2-part radio documentary a while ago about the Hadza and their gut health. The presenter (or interviewee, I forget) tried a similar diet, and the results were fascinating!

Let’s start here FB, I see your problem immediately.   You ate the orange, what is wrong with you? You go looking for trouble don’t’ya? HAHA

Pins and needles are a few things but they can be ā€˜real medical situation’ also so……MOST normal pins and needles is a compressed nerve…you know the kind we wake up with but…

when I do play Dr. Fangs from the Carnivory Dept…let me give ya some info: disclaimer, hit up a Dr if you truly feel something might be wrong but I will stab at it.

Dehydration can cause a sensation of pins and needles as sodium levels drop.

Symptoms of Food Sensitivities

A warning sign of a food sensitivity can be tingling and numbness. Symptoms typically begin within a few hours of eating the food that you are intolerant to, but they can also be delayed up to 48 hours. The symptoms can last for hours or days and usually involve the digestive and respiratory systems, as well as the skin.

Food sensitivities are most often diagnosed through an elimination diet. Can include dairy, gluten, caffeine, salicylates (natural chemicals produced by plants as a defense against environmental stressors), fructose, sulfites, yeast, MSG food colorings, sugar alcohols, eggs and aspartame.-----your oranges fall in here ya know

Then you got some scary stuff that can apply to pins and needles but more involved then our normal type of compressed nerves… Our nerves also have a coating over them, acting like a protective blanket, called a myelin sheath .

Myelin is the stuff on nerves that is attacked when people suffer neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis and Guillain-BarrƩ Syndrome . These neurological conditions are the more serious causes for concern that can cause paraesthesia.

Then we go a little further for pins and needles: there are blood vessels with nerves. In some cases conditions affecting the blood circulation of the artery or vein can be the cause of the pins and needles.

Some diseases that do this are:

  • Diabetes
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • Myocardial Infarcation (Heart Attack)
  • Aneurysm

Don’t worry! Remember other symptoms will go with the conditions mentioned above. A doctor will be able to help you find out why you are getting the abnormal skin sensation.

That is about pins and needles.

sugar and joint pain…oh just hit the internet, there is ton so info about that. just google sugar and joint pain and away ya go with a million reasons not to eat that orange.

Hey also Colgate toothpaste says your orange is on the not preferred to eat list cause it is so acidic you are chewing the enamel off your teeth. Don’t ya need those teeth for tearing flesh? Keep them pearly whites strong for eating the meats that are needed. Bad teeth you will be gumming up the oatmeal long term…ugh who wants to go there ever?

I hope I addressed some of the stuff you wanted to chat about.
This info is just for info purposes. You take what ya need and fling the rest

While I have no desire to jump into the middle of a full scale food fight, I found the picture that was shared previously worth a chuckle, especially given the context of the thread …

… I find it hard to grasp how, for millions of years, mankind has been hunting wild tubers with lightweight aluminum expandable poles.

Then again, who knows? It’s hard to know how paleo menus were managed in their original form [aside to @FrankoBear: probably did not include too many :tangerine: tho’ ]

She used to have that on her website which currently being redesigned and just has sign up for her newletter on it.

Interesting experiment. That stuff happens to me when I eat grains, so keto has been good to me.
