One year ago today I thought I would try keto

Well it has been a fun journey. On July 10th 2018 the wife and I decided to give keto a go after watching “The Magic Pill”. I am more rigid on food than she is but I also drink more beer than she does. Bottom line is we both eat very healthy and well. We literally never buy “stuff” in a box, it is all meat and produce. We enjoy it, both lost weight and are very close to goal weight. I am in it for the health benefits from here on out and just let my weight do what it wants. I am 57 and was asked at my routine dentist visit “What is your pharmacy?” I replied “I don’t have one” and with keto I hope to keep it that way. I am going to get my blood work done very soon but am not fearing it, I look forward to it.

I think I may be in the minority here but Richard and Carl had nothing to do with my choosing to go keto, I found it by accident channel surfing. But @richard and @carl you guys make it fun and scientific which is not an easy task. You forum folks ain’t too shabby either. I like you alot more than the people in that other form that banned me for discussing keto and scaring the CICO natives. Thank You all and looking ahead to year two. This is literally the easiest and most effective thing I have done so why not keep it going. KCKO

Same with me, but since I found the forum, I love their Podcasts and this forum!

I am so happy for you and your wife, with all the success you have both had! Best wishes for the rest of your journeys =).

Same here. I started feeling amazing and had nobody to talk to about it who wouldn’t think I were crazy or killing myself. I felt like I was walking around with the best secret ever and I was bursting to share it and validate it.

I was about 4 months in, before someone pointed me to the 2Dudes podcasts. I was hooked and they have kept me on the keto pathway.

I also love the forum posters here. Wise and good people and some are just down right delightful.

Glad to hear the comittment to keto is paying dividends for you and your wife.

I agree that Richard & Carl have provided a great resource with this forum and that it is a particularly courteous yet humorous online space.

Happy Ketoversary Scott, I’m coming up on a year soon too, it’s been a great journey so far, it’s kind of harder and harder for me to remember my eating before keto as time goes on. KETO has brought me such benefits I can’t even consider going back. I wish you continued progress and health. (No cowboy emoji on kindle) :sunglasses:

Thank you everyone! I think I am going to treat myself to a Dexa scan and a lipid profile to celebrate.

I so identify with that! I know there are various posts on the forum, but still, after 14 months, I feel like I have discovered that the world is round and not flat after all!:no_mouth:Why won’t anyone listen to me! :upside_down_face::astonished:
