Oh, no Wisconsin!

The article exaggerates things a bit much (the owners of Kerrygold are not likely to face Jail time, considering the company appears to not be U.S. based even if they have U.S. regional divisions, and likely the problem is for the retailers who sell the product, not the product manufacturers). But, I guess it sucks to be in Wisconsin right now (but what’s changed? I kid [maybe?]).

From the sounds of it though, I’d imagine Kerrygold will simply put up the money to push through the approval process, since they seem to have the funds and the incentive at this point, unless there is some serious corruption blocking the way behind the scenes.

We the FAB citizens of WI don’t give a crap who will be fined, who pays the fine, and who may go to jail; we just want the damb gold. My reps have either played dumb or pushed canned BS statements on safety and quality. I’ll just keep bothering them. If Kerry wants to work it out fine, I can still bother the living bleep out of my reps in the meantime.

Wisconsin is becoming Canada regarding kerrygold ban. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Actually, Canada just signed a trade deal with European Union, and dairy products are going to be more freely flowing across our borders. It will be interesting to see how this will turn out for Canadians.

Congratulations on being the only one to pronounce it correctly. The W isn’t just silent, it doesn’t exist there. Like Kerrygold butter.

Ooh good analogy, but ouch!

Sad, but there are other options. Organic Valley has an award winning and delicious grass-fed butter. They’re owned by local farmers such as my dad, not some big company. They are also headquartered in Wisconsin.
Honestly, that’s all I’ll ever use.

My family camped at Wyalusing State Park above Prairie du Chien each fall for decades. Memories of McIntosh apples and squeaky cheese curds. I lost my train of thought…

I’m an avid consumer of local grass fed butter here where I live, too. Incredible how the colour and taste changes. With the green spring shoots coming up now, I’m really looking forward to this years new crop of dark golden grass fed butter!

That’s one of my favorite state parks!

I have a lot of memories of it as a child but that was the 70s when camping was still rustic and fun, not the electronic nightmare of today.

#32

Thank you for supporting local farmers! (Not dissing KG, I don’t know how their operations work.)

#33

Omg :yum::yum::yum: I love Spotted Cow!

Many of Wisconsin state parks have plenty of wooded, rustic sites. They’re so beautiful. They do also have camper sites and open group sites but many are still real camping.
My husband and I are rustic campers.

@Joanna_Osterloh I just made ghee two days ago with 3 pounds of Organic Valley butter. Three more pounds waiting.

I’m getting ready to retire in four years. I’ll have to add Kerrygold to the list of things I need to make sure I can get. So apparently Wisconsin is off the list of potential retirement locations.

Organic Valley is my cream cheese (full-fat lowest carb), and usually my sour cream, mmmmmmmm

@GloriaJ you are a glorious goddess! My Hubby works near Libertyville and I’ll have him stop and clear the cooler out! Thank you :smile::sunglasses:

You’re welcome. You certainly won’t find it any cheaper. It is good then that two other Sunset Foods are closer to me than Libertyville, so there will be some left for me.
