Oh my gosh. So I thought I was alternate day fasting… but now I realize I’ve just been eating till, let’s say Monday, 2pm-7pm, then I would fast till 7pm the next day. This isn’t ADF is it?? I’m confused. Is this even effective? I feel like I’ve been cheating myself. Also let’s assume I eat max calories within the few hours I ate that day.
Oh my gosh.. fasting wrong ?!
I don’t burn as many calories as most people (I had it tested) and I don’t know if I’m seeing results ?? I don’t weight myself I kind of just go off of how my clothes fit and such. I was just curious if this is even a fast or just eating normal.
I’m having similar problem. Just not hungry except in the morning. Today Had salmon and eggs for breakfast and forced myself to eat a Florentine vegetable medley at dinner. Yesterday I just had the salmon and eggs and a mini cheesecake. Am I getting enough nutrients?
Can’t say on limited info but depending how long you’ve been keto and how much fat you have on your body, it may well be that your body is eating its own fat stores which is why you don’t feel hungry. This is why low calories don’t necessarily mess up metabolism, the body is still eating but from its own stores rather than your plate.
That’s a one-day fast, Grace, or 24 hours. Many people do one meal a day, or OMAD. Alternate day fasting is really eating one day, and not eating the next, which usually means the fasting period is longer than 24 hours since it’s got sleeping periods on both ends.
As to what is effective - for weight loss and hormonal healing, any reduction in the number of meals is usually a good thing. 2 is better than 3, and 1 is better than 2 - less time of increased insulin and lower overall average insulin levels.
Thank you. This was very helpful. I got a lot of fat stored. Been on keto for about 6 weeks - down 11 lbs. Feeling great!
OMAD is not effective for weight loss, it’s more maintenance style Keto.
I’d still be eating two meals a day until you are fat adapted, then you can experiment with fasting.
