I’m babysitting. Watching stepdaughters kids for the past few days. 5 yr old walk up to me with this and says, “I’m taking my medicine now” and dang near pops it in her mouth. I grabbed it. I can’t find anything like it through google searching. I don’t know what to call the shape. Short cylinder with rounded ends. No markings of any kind. Heck, this might be a piece of candy. But I don’t recognize it at all. In my experience pills of this size ( about 3 or 4 mm across) are usually some sort of hormone tablet. Like pedrisone or something similar.

is it really tiny? (I can’t tell what it’s sitting on so it’s hard to see the scale). Could be a homeopathic remedy. Usually they’re perfectly round but I think it depends on the brand.

She won’t say where she found it?

Her mom just got here, sniffed it, crunched it in her mouth, and said it tastes like cherry flavored candy.

For me the scary part, the 5 yr old has access to her own meds. She has epilepsy, and has to take vB6 and some othe common thing, keppra I thinks it’s called. It was in her weekly pill box with the others.

Something tells me the 5 yr old was just screwing with me, and I over reacted.

I don’t think she should be able to reach her meds. But I’m old fashioned like that. I also ketch hell when I tell the wife not to take prescription meds from her friends at work. She brings home a tube of cream. It’s from Korea, where narcotics are sold over the counter (or they were when I was there in the late 90’s). Written in Korean, which I taught myself to read, but translation is another thing all together. She asks me what it is. And I tell her it’s poison. It’s not yours. Toss it out or give it back.
