Off Topic" ... Im hopping mad with Amazon

('Jackie P') #1

WTF! I order some mesh bags in an attempt to be more plastic aware when I’m shopping, and I get this!

A ruddy great big box half full of plastic!:rage:

They always do that! I understand them doing it when it is a breakable object that they are sending; but what you ordered could have been put in a much smaller box, with no padding at all, or even in an envelope type packaging.

(hottie turned hag) #3

Ya I order a lot from Amazon and the packaging is annoying. I’ve had that overabundance of filler surrounding a small unbreakable item ex: a paring knife :expressionless:

('Jackie P') #4

Unbelievable!:no_mouth:

And then they send me a glass bottle of liquid methylcobalamine (methylated B12) in a padded envelope with hardly any insulation at all. I’m always amazed when it arrives intact.

('Jackie P') #6

Yep! And I buy present, say, a lipstick in a box and it comes all crushed up in an envelope … grrrrr!

#7

At least it wasn’t filled with packing peanuts

What I hate is when Amazon (or Walmart or Target or whatever) require a certain dollar threshold to qualify for free shipping, and then ship the five items I collected to meet that threshold in five different shipments.

(Allie) #9

Amazon UK don’t use plastic packing thankfully, not with any of my orders anyway.

('Jackie P') #10

I’m in the UK!

(Allie) #11

Different depot maybe? I’m right by their MK head office, don’t know if that makes a difference or not :joy: we always get massive boxes with paper packing for tiny little things :joy:

('Jackie P') #12

Lol yes I get that, recently have been getting white bags lined with bubble wrap!
I’m in West Sussex😊

(Allie) #13

Do you get the box within a box with a token piece of brown paper as “packing” too? :joy:

('Jackie P') #14

Haha! Oh yes! They are very creative at the Amazon depot!

(Susan) #15

I don’t mind at all if they send the paper; I give it to my grand daughter for her to draw/colour on, works great for me. I hate the waste with the bubble wrap or the big bags full of air I get.
