Hey all,
Recording my journey on keto and wanted to share some … Interesting findings.

Just because the package is green, doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Stevia in the Raw has majority Dextrose. -Ose is a sugar. Looks like I need to carry some Erythynotol with me at all times. I also need to learn how to spell Erythynotol.

So, salt is now actually a good thing? Figures. Every other thing I hear from the health world is upside down! How much reprogramming must I do with my brain?! I’m getting IO Exceptions up there!

Ground ginger and sea salt in water tastes like soap. But with Stevia in the Raw, it’s okay. But Stevia in the Raw has dextrose. And it’s the devil.

I hope everyone could get a laugh from my findings today. We are all case studies of one but my notes may help yours.

I use the Stevia Drops from Trader Joes. It is de-ionized water, stevia extract, and 11% organic alcohol. I carry it in my lunch bag to work.

Salt is a good thing. Insulin signals the body to hold onto sodium. With insulin being kept to a minimum on the ketogenic diet, your body is flushes the sodium so you need to take in more.

Upside down is the name of the game here!
I just read on another thread that someone said they felt it was harder to accept the extra salt need (especially when fasting) than to increase fat in the diet. I have to agree on that. For the longest time I thought I was getting enough salt, until my skin started drying out. Salt fixed that.
How about drinking your water as is? I never add anything to my water, but then I live in a place with exceptionally good water. No chlorine and no fluoride, just clean and good water.
I’ve had several attempts to succeed with LCHF before I found keto. Those times that I replaced sugar with other things I didn’t do so well. This time around I cut out all sugar-replacements and all bread replacements the first 6 weeks. The result for me is that I don’t crave those at all. Completely un-interesting. But hey… that’s just my experience.
Well done to have succeeded one more week.
