Anyone seen the ad for "Plant Butter? Evidently the little kid will only eat buttered noodles. The ad is trying to push plant butter as a healthy alternative. The kid must be the President of the local Future Diabetics of America chapter.
Nutty TV Ad
Plant butter already exists: coconut oil and cocoa butter. No need for another margarine concoction made from soy.
How does this differ from margarine?
Seems purely a naming thing - “ooh, plant-based … that’s like the 2010s label that means healthy!” (In the 1980s or 1990s it would have been low-fat)
It’s still low fat. Read recommendations for a diabetic diet and they still say whole milk dairy causes diabetes. Sigh. What about all that sugar they add in to make low fat dairy palatable. I went off plan for two months after a year and a half. Went back to keto. Day one bg 95. Days two and three, bg 85. Which part of this are they not getting? And off plan for me was only a glass of milk and one tortilla. What a difference two days can make.
