Nutrition reform in Chile

Interesting New York Times article on nutrition reform in Chile.

It’s very interesting. I don’t see this happening in the United States, where grains reign supreme.

That’s for sure. We can only hope.

If Chile can keep that in place for a decade or two, they might be a model for other countries for tackling sugar. Not the US. Too much money and influence. But NZ, Australia, all of Oceania. Maybe even Europe.

I think what we will find are the countries that have national health plans are going to lead the way as they all have motivation to control health care costs - and its pretty hard to argue against good nutrition via ketogenic diet when over and over again the results are consistently showing the impact on improving metabolic disease related conditions. Of course there will be push back from corporate interest - but this huge wave of essentially citizen science (that’s all of us that are realizing the benefits of this WOE) will hopefully, eventually outstrip the naysayers. The smart money should shift from crap food/pharma to sustainable whole food production.
