Nutella is Sugar and Omega 6 - shock

Excellent to read this piece and even mention metabolic syndrome …

EDIT - whoops forgot link - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/food/article-4131264/What-REALLY-goes-jar-Nutella.html?ito=social-facebook

It is time for proper labelling of these foods and damage done and yes this is nanny state but don;t care, these products are poison.

BTW a lot of cyclists swear by this crap

Yeah! Nutella and the nutella want-to-be’s. Full of sugars. Ugh. nut butters were some of my top former binge foods. Glad to be off the nutella “hootch”. I don’t miss Nutella hang overs. :weary:

(ianrobo) #3

yeah when I went to this WOE I looked at the stuff I used to eat and it just showed it, however to see the mainstream press mention metabolic syndrome is a big step forward

I got this from either Keto Krate or Keto Delivered - sorry, I cannot remember. It’s pretty good but I honestly don’t eat much sweet stuff aside from 99% Cacao from time to time. Here’s the label:

Anyone who wants to read a current label can easily see the sugars. More failed ideology called “govt” isn’t the answer.

(ianrobo) #6

disagree govts can make the labels clear, easy to understand, call sugars sugars and not starches etc.

When you say govts interfere too much, imagine what it would be like if Monsanto and say Nestle could do what they like ? OK to have GMO hidden apart from odd products like in this thread ?

The U.S. FDA is moving toward new labeling that lists “added sugar” as a category. They still let starches and maltodextrin remain as hidden sources of sugar though. The food companies do everything they can to hide the sugar in the teeny tiny fine print on the ingredients list rather than having an easy way for most people to spot it.

(ianrobo) #8

I would take a little bet with you that gets reversed now … even that small success for those people in the US will go.

(Larry Lustig) #9

Without government requirements these labels would not exist.

(ianrobo) #10

no Larry, if left to themselves the big profit making companies would help us all …

whoops sorry thats Ayn Rand cloud cuckoo land
