NSV: Fun shopping trip

#1

After 10 1/2 months of low carb/Keto/fasting and after going through every piece of clothes in my old and out-dated wardrobe, I finally broke down and did some shopping over the past three days.

My wife, who retired last week, and I are planning to drive from Baton Rouge to L.A. in April just for the fun of it. Some 1,800+ miles. We’ve flown to Vegas, Phoenix and L.A. but always wanted to drive there.

But I’ve gone from a tight 46 waist to an almost loose 38. Oh so close to 36s. So that meant new clothes for me. I am as far from being a clothes horse as there is but it was a kick having much more of a selection and not having to pay extra for larger sizes.

Walked away with three pairs of shorts, two pairs of trousers and nine shirts. I could have gotten smaller sizes but I was shopping for comfort and not vanity … that may come later when I reach goal. This was just interim shopping, my wife says. Will shop again later.

Have lost 70 pounds (255 to 185) since last April 8. Ten more to go and just maybe into those 36s.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Congratulations to your wife on her retirement.

I am no clothes horse either, but we are expected to wear 'em. I agree that it is much easier and more fun to shop for normal-size clothes.
