H-E-B has USDA prime rib roasts on sale for 12.99/lb. Angus choice for 9.99.
Spent 600$on meat today.

OH HELL YEAH!

I am so like that. Hit those fab sales and stock up time is the way to go. Best money spent for the holidays on meat you can eat all thru the new year  Love it! So happy you got great deals!!

Angus choice for 9.99 is good! I am waiting for the big sales. I am waiting for our standing prime rib roasts to start their sales. Haven’t seen any great ones yet…fingers crossed here for me to fill the freezer a bit

Great time of year for Prime Rib. I bought a 5lb rack of Prime Rib at Stop and Shop Monday reduced $30. I’m going back for another roast. Christmas time is great!

Now that you mentioned it, I went on to a web-site called Flipp, which seeks out good deals from flyers in your own neighborhood, and checked out the beef deals.

Holy Cow, great deals , AA top sirloin 3.97/#, AAA top sirloin $7.99 # AAA prime rib steak roast $4.99, I think I’m with you, stock up and roast away!

#5

oh yea. that is a fab savings! yes go get another  and the about $60 total you do save buys a lot of bacon, or butter, or hamburger down the line LOL, hey I think like that, with the bucks saved on the big good meats, I can buy the ‘side dishes and butter’ I need for survival! Love your post!

#6

wow that is super low price. I wish that was around me.

Flipp huh…never heard of it but checking it out  thanks

and yes if you are a meat eater to the max this is the time for big beef sales and if you got a freezer, you are in heaven now HA

(Ellen ) #7

My daughter and I already finished it. Mmmmm good.

#8

ohhhh then you best go buy up like 6 of those suckers now LOL

I would rather always put the money into good meat than anything else. Like say if I think my grocery money is too high, but for what I get? I would gladly not buy other things for a while just to hit that meat sale and know I am set.

you lucky people you…MMmmmm good. I bet it was!!

(Bob M) #9

? Who or what is H-E-B?

#10

Southern grocery chain, mostly in Texas

Yes, I thought great price, but I don’t usually buy roasts, but there must be something wrong with this. I’ll check it out today and let you know.

Flipp may just be in Canada, but I’m sure the US would have something similar.

Grocery store meat clerk, told me I was 30 minutes too late. Said there was a line up waiting for him to put more out, and they went quickly. My friend works at the same grocery in another location, bigger store, she will get me two, but deal is on till next week. I should grab a few eh?

I sliced the rib bones off one and vacuum sealed them. Will sous vide 36 hours and then smoke 6 hours. I cut the rest into ribeyes and sealed in sous vide bags. Ate one steak yesterday, one today. My wife said "at this rate you are going to go through 300$ worth of meat pretty quickly. I just smiled.

The other one will be prime rib for Christmas Day. Doing a big Wagyu brisket for Christmas Eve day.

I have FLIPP and in the US. Mine is an app for Android.

I am making duck on Xmas and I am going to eat all the crispy skin and pour the fatty drippings on my veg. Ah how I love Keto! No deprivation whatsoever…

Thanks Wendy, yes Flipp is great, I have it as an app on my Iphone, but also visit it through it’s website Flipp.com which i mostly use because my PC monitor is much bigger than my Iphone’s.

I wondered if it was in the US, thanks for the info

I was in Port Charlotte FL this time last year. There was a store “Save More” I’m pretty sure it was that had boneless rib roasts for that price. I never see them that low on the west coast. If I could I’d buy as much as my little freezer could hold even if I had to give most of what’s in there now away! :joy::joy::grin::cowboy_hat_face:

Bet there is a lot of good stuff in your freezer too. The roasts are beauties, got 2 5 pounders , that’s all they allowed, or I would have got a few more. One for the weekend and one in the freezer for another day. This sale is going on until the 23rd I think, and they go fast, so I may scoot out for a couple more when the re-stock. I don’t have a freezer, but I think I could jam a couple more in freezer compartment in my fridge.

I was just out today, Safeway has bone in roasts for $5.99 lb. till Christmas. Going to grab a big one and cut steaks. I think that’s all I can get for that price. :cowboy_hat_face:

(Full Metal KETO AF) #20

Sad trip to Safeway, the $5.99 whole rib roasts weight >20 lbs each! So I didn’t have the $150+ for the average one, and settled for a 24oz marked down giant ribeye instead. :cowboy_hat_face:
