Now I know why people doing low-carb diets really die earlier

#1

because whenever we hear the phrases “artery-clogging saturated fat” or “healthy whole grains”, hear someone talking about “conventional dietary wisdom” or “moderation”, how they have to eat a whole grain sandwich with margarine instead of butter and low fat american cheese, or else doom and death will happen… it all makes our blood pressures go up!

Lol, ok. Bad joke, but it’s kind of true. It drives me crazy anyway.

I don’t give a hoot what other people eat or don’t eat or why they do or don’t. As long as I can choose to eat what I want to eat for whatever my reasons what does it matter to me what nonsense other people spout off? :sunglasses:

PS: Yes, I know it’s a joke. But some folks let others’ opinions and ignorance affect them far too much.

My boyfriend is pre-diabetic and won’t go low-carb cuz his doctor says it will kill him.
I don’t know enough of the science off the top of my head to try to explain why he doesn’t need to worry about cholesterol. And let’s not forget about the candy he eats with every med he takes “to keep his blood sugar up”. WTH?

I’m on cholesterolcode.com right now hoping to get a handle on this so I can help him.

But anyway, “conventional dietary wisdom” can go suck a toad.

Are toads Keto?

Just saw a commercial where the father of the bride needs to take a drug to avoid a heart attack. He looks at the prime rib and shakes his head. He goes for the salad instead, bad move.

Definitely!

Yes, they are low in carbs, but you would need to add extra fat. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

can you trick him into eating veggies and meats without carbs?

don’t call it low carb… just say “healthy greens and protein”

Sharon I don’t have any particular recommendations except watching some of the YouTube experts on keto and diabetes with him like Ken Barry MD, or Dr. Jason Fung. Maybe “The Magic Pill” would be a good place to start if you have Netflix. A few diabetic turn arounds and other keto victories in that awesome and inspiring film. :cowboy_hat_face:
