I am now going on 19 days and I know I have lost maybe a pound or two. I am tracking on “carb manager” and haven’t gone over 20 net carbs except for one day was 23. I am having a hard time keeping up my fat versus the protein…consuming anywhere from 900 - 1200 calories a day. I am not very big to begin with, but need to lose around 12 pounds. Will I just wake up one day and all the fat has dropped off? LOL I hope so because it isn’t happening fast enough for me right now. Need some input on my impatient self!
Not sure it's gonna happen
Keto is for much more than just weight loss it has so many other benefits focus on that . You don’t have to reach your fat macro its eat until satisfied and with only 12 pounds to lose of course it’s going to be slow people with more weight to lose will lose faster. Are you here to stay or just to lose quick weight ? Good luck to you it works and having better skin and more energy are just a few benefits as well .
You need to eat more food!
Restricting calories and not eating enough will slow your metabolism and cause you body to hold on to its extra fat stores.
Yeah, no.
It doesn’t happen like that and if you are expecting that you are going to be sorely dissapointed. You aren’t eating enough food for starters. I know you’re impatient, as was I. Also disillusioned to how quickly I could lose weight. I only needed to lose 15kg and it has taken me 5 months. Research, be patient, and learn.
Actually when I go to the websites for Keto and plug in my information…weight, height, etc, I am right in the range for the suggested calories. ALso, I don’t feel like I should be eating when I am not hungry just to get the calories up! But I am going to keep going to see what happens.
Those calculators aren’t tailored to the individual and there’s too much room for error.
Here’s an example of someone who took the advice to bump those calories up.
That calculator assumes you’re overeating already, so that’s why it tells you you need such a deficit. Reality is, your metabolism is tanked by restricting this long. Need to get the body used to burning and requiring more calories, then restrict, but not every single day.
@ava_ad0re is totally right, I saw her original thread about the same thing and subsequent progress once she
unfucked
her calories. Inspiring!
