Can’t spot control, it’ll go from where your body wants it to go from. Time and patience, you’ll get there

The body takes fat where it wants to take fat. I’m 8.5 months in and my girth is still way to big for my liking. It takes time. Be patient and keep on keto.

Everybody is different but for me personally, I’ve been Keto for 6 months and have lost 60 lbs, but still have belly fat and arm flab :expressionless: so I got myself a gym membership so I can tone those areas.

From some of what I’ve read, we lose the fat that was most recently added to our bodies, first. Our bodies are wired to add fat to our hips and butt if we are women and to our bellies if we are men. After those areas become abnormally fatty, our bodies start to stuff fat anywhere it can… our feet, our hands, our face. Anywhere but our earlobes and nose. So it would make sense that the overflow storage areas would be prioritized when we start losing weight.

Your energy levels may be consistent enough at this point. Only one way to find out. I will just point out that many experiments have been conducted to target fat in specific areas with exercise and that none, to my knowledge, have been successful. However, strengthening your stomach muscles and exercise in general, have undeniable benefits.

I’m 18 months Keto and not losing weight on the scale but am prepared for another year or more to lose my remaining belly fat. Body transformation. There’s tons of info online with various recommendations, but the longer it takes, the better chance for a lifelong and permanent change is how I see it. :ok_woman:

Good luck!

Eleven months, 24 pounds lost. I look leaner overall but still have belly fat. Then again, I will be 61 next week, so I need to be realistic. I do body resistance and Pilates and it helps a lot. Keep going, you will be amazed at all the other health benefits.

I was “fatter” at 139 (Oct) than I am now at 143. I was a poster child for the skinny-fat man and scrawny. Now my clothing lays better and I’m overall better proportioned, with obvious skin tightening…

I just turned 55 and also perfectly satisfied if I remain the same indefinitely, but keto-ing on plus modest, regular exercise is making me leaner every day! :muscle:

First, give it time. In the grand scheme, seven weeks is a very short amount of time. Commit and enjoy the changes. A year from now, you’ll be amazed. Second, remember that if you want your body fat to be used, you don’t want to gobble excessive amounts of dietary fat. Fat to satiety, especially as it occurs in meats and cooking, is sufficient. Keep up the good work.

I’m almost 8 weeks. Lost 24-26 lbs. my pants are looser but I definitely don’t need to go down a size, they just fit comfortably. My shirts fit about the same. SW was 234 CW is 208/209. People notice in my face that I’ve lost weight, doesn’t seem like much around midsection. Such is life. KCKO. Best of luck to you!

10 months of low carb, 6 months of Keto/fasting and 70 pounds down (255-185) and I’ve pretty much lost proportionately all over. Still more tummy fat than I care for but huge improvement. Pants size down from 46 to 38.

As a 68 YO, WM I’d like to lose more of my man boobs. But all the fat that was holding them up is melting and they want to sag. Lol. Bummer getting older.

Do a lot of walking and my leg and butt muscles are a good bit stronger and those areas are firming up nicely.

Also still have lower back fat to lose.

You probably didn’t gain the weight in 7 weeks. Take a chill pill, keep calm and keto on.

it is amazing how quick I build billy fat eating nuts .

But I lose it when doing at least doing three day water fasting at least two or three times.

exercise is good add to health but in my case has nothing to do with weight loss.

Huh - I hadn’t heard this. My belly fat definitely crept up last. I’ve made some strides there but not fast enough for my liking, of course! If it takes the 3 or 4 years it took to put it on to take it off, bummer, but it’s a move in the right direction.

I took the information with a grain of salt and while it makes sense to me and applied to me, I am sure that it might not hold true for everyone.

(Allie) #17

I’ve heard the same thing and it also applied to me.

Belly fat is what our ancestors had to survive winter. Belly fat protects your vital organs, so your body will hold onto it longer than face fat, lol.

The trick is letting your body know “hey buddy, we’re not starving, so its okay to let it go.”

That’s why fasting and feasting works so well for most people. Its what I do… I fast all day and have a feast for dinner once a day. I went from almost 40% body fat to 17% body fat using this method. My metabolism stays healthy while my body uses stored fat for energy during the day.

I still have a small amount of belly fat that is very slowly going away. The key for me is understanding why its there and why it will take longer to completely go away. Just be patient.

@Alpha. Agree about nuts. Went to a party Saturday night and indulged in some great salted almonds, cashews, macadamias and, off course, peanuts. Ate a shit-pile of them. So good. Next day noticed belly was bigger and then last night had distention and mild cramping.

Of course, it was a party and I had other high carb stuff but I really think it was the nuts that messed me up the worse. If nothing else it proved to me you have to watch out for nuts because it is just so easy to over indulge on them.

After much research I have determined that my belly is the last place I lose and conversely it is also the first place I put it back on too.
