Not Hungry/Tired

Just to add, losing 13lbs that fast on keto is pretty common, but a lot of that was water. Keep hydration up and again, keep salt and all electrolytes up. This doesn’t speak to the lack of hunger, but it could explain the lack of energy. Especiallt if you weren’t feeling this phenomenon before starting keto and the quick weight loss.

Eat more of your high fat selections such as bacon& eggs, :+1: HWC, :+1: protein with oil, mayo or butter. :+1: Prosciutto & cheese :+1: Avocado if you can. Instead of eating mid-day, wait until you are hungry. I wouldn’t force anything, just eat high fat meals.

What’s with the almond milk? Just drink a cup of cream. Or the coconut milk @uniprod suggested.

Not enough salt, magnesium, &/or potassium. Work on salt first. If you feel tired, draggy, foggy, or dizzy, go for some salt. You need a lot of salt on the WoE - aim for 4 grams of sodium (that’s a LOT!). If you’re dragging, you may be amazed to find that within 15-30 minutes of ingesting a teaspoon of salt, you’ll feel MUCH better.

actually almond milk is a great source of magnesium, I drink it all the time with the HWC of course.

She got locked out for the moment.

One last idea. I don’t know this for sure, but maybe someone could help me out. It seems to me that if the issue is in fact an electrolyte problem, then the low energy could be causing the low appetite vs low appetite causing the energy. I’m sure they could both effect one another in a vicious little cycle but maybe start with the former. It’s hard to say exactly, but switching over your metabolism is a decently extreme process for the body. If you are feeling the low energy of keto flu, then some minor depression could certainly follow and a lack of appetite could be the result of all of these factors. My instinct would be to focus on the salt and see how you feel.

Given the amount of weight she has lost I am certain some issues are with electrolytes mainly the tired feeling, water leaving etc. But the concerning issues is the hunger signalling and the amount of calories being taken in currently. She may be lucky and really has excellent lipolysis and her ketones are ok which means things are happening. Long term that may be a problem, but its early on and yes it could be keto flu.

Now that I am out of Newbie Jail  I tested my blood this morning, I was at 1.7. The scale also said i was down .9lbs. I drink about 4-5 24oz bootles of water with decaf green tea bags (has potassium in it) & a bit of salt. I also have hot tea during the day (decaf). I am taking vitamins b1, potassium, magnesium and a one a day vitamin. I tried coconut oil in my coffee this morning was better than i expected. I was still very sleepy after eating each meal today, however i did not feel like i was forcing myself to eat. I used oil for fat grams and not as much fatty foods.

Easiest way I’ve found out is make sure you have more fat than protein and carbs each meal, make sure you eat when hungry. Mayo and sauces be careful, make your own, they last awhile. Don’t have nuts yet, people go overboard, eat cheeses but also some people do have issues with cheese, and it’s easy to eat a lot of it, I limit cheese a little or I’ll go overboard.

I don’t worry about macros as much now that I’m fat adapted, I eat til full, but I do have a lot to lose so my body I think uses some of my fat storage. You have about 3-5 weeks til you hit this point.

It’s easier though if your choosing fattier cuts of meat to get that fat in.
