Not giving up just feeling fed up

I try not to eat sweat either. However, would be useful for getting salts!:sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

My dog does this!

In summer, when I’ve been doing yard work, he’ll lick my arms like crazy, like I’m a salt lick… :see_no_evil::crazy_face:

I’m not sure if that means I should be giving him more salt? But apparently you’re meant to be really careful re dogs and salt…

Apparently bad for people too but we know that’s a load of crap… :+1:

Ya, I know…

But humans doesn’t necessarily = dogs…

And I can monitor my symptoms, but my dog refuses to speak to me when I ask him if he’s got any weird symptoms going on

So I’m double careful about risking stuff with my dog’s diet, compared to my own.

But arm-sweat licking like it’s the biggest treat he’s had in days does seem to indicate a salt thing…

Our dogs have access to our sheep’s salt licks, tho I’ve not seem them using them…

I will have to keep thinking about it and for now, my arms will have to do as a source of additional salt

I let them follow their instincts as they’re much more in tune with their bodies than we are. One dog I used to know, Irish Setter called Nalle, always used to seek out willow trees and chew the bark as he knew it was anti inflammatory and would ease his joint pains (he was old).

Obviously I wouldn’t just dish out something loaded with salt or whatever, but if they seek it out themselves, I trust them.

I’ve worked out how I’m going to solve my dog’s salt issue!

I’m going to buy him a salt lick too (like our sheep have) and put it next to his basket and show him how to “use” it, so he knows what it is.

Then he can “self-regulate” and I don’t need to worry about whether I’d be over-dosing his food with salt.

:+1:t3:
