I have been eating keto since beginning of may. Had a few …ok maybe a bunch of slip ups at first but for the last 6 weeks I have been doing great. Kept my carbs under 20. Eating plenty of fat and mod protein. Have lost 34 lbs. Still a little tired at times during the day but mostly I feel great. With that said…Shark week is days away and today I want all the crap food. Had 3 bites of a donut and a bite of pizza. Stopped myself from a full on binge thank goodness. I know better than to have these things in the house at this time. Normally I can look and not even think twice. Anyhow, I just needed to get that off my chest to people that would actually understand. Thanks for reading!
Not a great day
Hang in there, Dizzy!!! We all have those days!!! 4 bites is not that bad!!! Just try to be really good before you go to bed tonight so you can go to bed feeling better and feel super strong in the morning.
A big hug!
Cindy
We’ve all done it, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Yesterday I said to hell with it since I wanted to sample my home-grown corn. My first month into keto I was so careful, when my husband went out to pick up burgers, to tell him no sauce. That went well the first few times, I always threw the bun away and checked for the sauce. The third time he brought burgers, I carefully checked for the sauce, then proceeded to take a bite and say to myself “Something is wrong here!” I had forgotten to throw away the bun!
You had 4 bites. That’s an amazing display of self control and you should be proud you were able to push the rest away and say “this is not for me”. I congratulate you!
Thanks guys for the support. Today is a new day. I’m gonna stay away from the crap food.
Don’t be too hard on yourself! 4 bites is nothing. We all make mistakes and slip up. Tomorrow is always a new day, and if you don’t want to wait that long to start fresh, take a deep breath and start over from that moment! You should be so proud of what you have already accomplished! Keep hanging tough and love yourself
After watching The Magic Pill over the weekend I wanted to make that macadamia nut bread in the movie so I bought the nuts and coconut butter for it
I have never tried macadamia nuts before so I popped one into my mouth to see what they tasted like.
Then I remembered I was fasting!!! GAH!!!
Too late. Oh well. Couldn’t beat myself up for it and was actually pleased the fasting was going so well I HAD forgotten.
Live to fast another day, as they say.
Same with the 4 bites. You should be proud of yourself for stopping at 4 bites. Well done!!!
Hi Danielle –
I’ve only been doing keto for 11 weeks, and when I had those one or two times that I felt really hungry and on the edge of breaking out the chips – I double down on the fatty foods – peanut butter, Italian salami, a few shots of half and half and a big glass of water. It helped me destroy the carb craving, perhaps it might help you too.
Have a strategy (keto friendly foods) in place for when those moments or feelings come up.
Good luck.
Yup, it happens.
Don’t sweat it. It’s small. Only a few bites do not make a new way of eating. It’s gonna happen from time to time. Don’t beat yourself up. Just resolve to continue eating well and move forward.
KCKO, as they say around here. (Keep Calm, Keto On.)
