Non keto feasting after fast

#1

Last week I fasted from Sunday night until Friday breakfast…4.5 days/ 108 hrs. I feasted in a very non keto fashion Friday and Saturday. Hamburger w/bun and fries, a whole apple, ounces upon blessed ounces of nuts, a few generous portions of cake/ice cream, pizza, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes/gravy, cream corn, biscuits with honey. It was glorious.
I tested blood ketones and blood sugar this morning and ketones were .5 and BG 92.

Assuming my meters are calibrated correctly, is it possible to regain ketosis after eating like this for 2 days?

Are my results due to fasting prior to feasting?

I’d love to read your experiences if they’ve been similar to mine

I have rare cheat meals, not days, and I usually stay in light ketosis - it takes me about 48 hours to get back to where I was pre-cheat. BUT, my blood glucose goes sky-high, which is more concerning than the ketone levels, IMO.

Now I’m questioning everything. Haven’t eaten anything today due to stomach pain…probably from the past few days’ indulgences. I took my blood ketone readings two other times today and came up with “low”, I guess too low to assign a number too…dont know why my dang meter doesnt just show “00”.

Oh well. Sigh!!

You can always get back into Ketosis. Think about how you ate pre-keto. Probably about how you ate this time. Just get back on track, no big deal. Good luck!

There could be another explanation. Usually, if the blood strip doesn’t fill all the way up, you get an Error Code. A couple of times, I think because it went three quarters of the way up, I got a “LO” reading. Pricked another finger, and got a reading.

I just look at it as you wasted an entire week of fasting.
