I have been doing Keto since the beginning of March. I have been repeatedly motivated by the “2 KETO DUDES” podcast (I started at day one and listen to an episode everyday while driving to and from work…(up to January 2017 as of yesterday))
I keep reading about others that, like me, can get down with the scale…even though I feel amazing and I have obviously gotten smaller (long way to go still, like 80 pounds more)
So, I heard the term NO WEIGH MAY and I am going to try this, I love the idea, of really just focusing on the signs from my body, and the way I FEEL, my energy, and the hunger or the lack there of. Things that in my whole adult life of being fat, I have never really thought about.
I have learned so much these months!! ROCK ON… KETO ON…ONWARDS AND DOWNWARDS! LOL
NO WEIGH MAY... Any one in?
I am in. I think this is very needed for me- my scale will be down and I’m in a sunshiney mood all day, or up and I’m discouraged and sad all day. My husband has commented how detrimental this is to my life, weighing daily.
Thanks for initiating this!
I tried in it February or March, made it to the 22nd, but was making myself insane the whole time… I am sure your mileage will vary and l wish you good luck.
This is a great idea. And I may join you later, but my employer’s annual biometric screening is this Friday and I need to watch that lying liar of a scale.
I’m on board. Actually, I already cheated once, but that was because I had to do a ruck march and I needed to make sure my pack weighed a certain amount. I only compared it to me with all my clothes on and cell and keys in pockets - so it’s not my usual completely-naked weigh in.
So June 1st is the next weigh it, eh? Should be fun! I’m already down 30+ so it’s all just novel information at this point I already got my sexy back - now just doing keto for all the other health benies!
I like weighing myself. When the number doesn’t change or goes up a pound or two, I don’t get down. That’s just the way things go.
Of course, you’ve lost over 100 lbs, so it’s mostly down, right?
In, though no strain here - I have a scale at home and am away from it for a month to two months at a time, routinely. Last weighed myself in late March. Lots of data points can be good, but I don’t want to drag around a bunch of stuff… Still have ~100 lbs. to lose, too, so it’s a long-term deal.
Not sure what you mean when you say you’re SURE my mileage will vary…but good luck to you too!
YAAAAAY! YES YES YES!! love that you got your sexy back! Nothing better than that! I’m getting there!
Had to laugh just now when seeing the title here: “NO WEIGH MAY… Any one in?”
Not really paying attention, my mind read it as "No One May Weigh In," i.e. sort of a “Thou Shalt Not Pass” deal or “Don’t Even Try To Tell Me Anything.”
Slow day at work here.
I can not tell you how much I loved this post! I just signed up to this forum and your post was the first I saw. I was just telling my two best friends (that are also keto) that tomorrow is my 30 day mark and I don’t want to weigh myself. If the numbers aren’t were I am hoping them to be, I don’t want that to mentally mess with me. I was weighing myself everyday the first 2-3 weeks.
I finally said enough and I had my husband hide the scale from me and that was the best decision I have made. I have been able to focus on my body and listen to it. I no longer have the feeling of constant hunger or boredom hunger. So, when I read your post it was like it was meant to be.
I too am all for the NO WEIGH MAY!!!
Nope! LOL!! I’m enjoying slowly watching the numbers on the scale go DOWN!!!
Yes, they vary, as much as 5 pounds in a single day depending upon what time of day, how long since I’ve eaten, whether I’ve had a BM. Lots of factors. But yesterday was a low I haven’t seen in a very, very long time. That is exciting to me. I want more.
I’m doing my version of intermittent fasting, too… basically one meal a day. I started doing that a few days a week and it seems to have given me a little nudge towards the downside after being stuck in the same range for a while.
Good luck! And hey, if not looking at the scale for some particular length of time is something you want to do, go for it.
You probably will not be driven nuts by not weighing in on the daily. Varied mileage… man, I’ve been on the internet too long.
Weigh to go, everybody!
(Oh, come on! You knew somebody was going to!)
