Found in the Adelaide Advertiser Saturday 8th June.

In my WW days I would eat a whole packet of rice crackers for 6 points and then eat more 20 minutes later when I started shaking. This was probably hypoglycaemia resulting from a surge on insulin from the carb load. Gee, I was so addicted to this synthetic food though.

You’re paying attention…skip the crackers. You are not alone…been there. Glad we learned. :slightly_smiling_face:

Same here. Lived on those things when I did WW. Ugh.

I’d be interested in seeing how this study was conducted. As much as I agree that processed food and starches contribute to hyerpinsulinemia, correlation studies and epidemiology have limited value. I suspect fructose and sucrose along with the processed starches suggested in the article, played a significant role in their conclusion.

Sydney Uni has done a lot of studies on the glycemic index. IIRC, they typically use healthy adult males for their response curves, which tells us little about how someone with insulin resistance will react to the same foods. Then they do the survey question voodoo studies too.
