No appetite going on for 1 month since started

Hello,

I started keto or more low carb about a month ago. I generally stay 60g or less carbs because of a big salad I have every day. My fat and protein are around 110g give or take a few.

So when I first started i experience a total loss of appetite for any food but I made sure I eat to 1500 calories as was suggested with a prior app recommendation my fitness pal.

Here I am 1 month later and experience the same problem no appetite and I just eat a my 2 afternoon time intervals because I do 18:6 if.

So my question is can i drop the calories and just eat when I have an appetite instead of this force feeding. I am 207lbs 5’6" 50 yr male and strength train 4 days of week? I feel I could get by with just 1000 calories a day with mostly protein.

I don’t see the problem. Eat when hungry. Yes, I mean it. If you have no appetite, don’t eat. Your body will not let you waste away to nothing. When it needs food, it will let you know.

Sounds like your body is telling you not to eat. Keto is simple. Eat Keto food when hungry till satisfied, if your not hungry, don’t eat! Just make sure to keep your salt consumption up. If your satisfied with 1,000 calories per day, go for it. Your body will take care of the deficit using stored fat. As you lose weight and have less reserves, you should naturally feel more hungry.

If you have consistent energy, then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t follow your hunger signals. I ate about 1200 calories for a month when I was 185 pounds and 5’10" 49 year old and I felt great the whole time. What’s important is that your body has learned how to supplement a caloric deficit with body fat. As long as this is happening, enjoy the ride.

Yep - cut the calories to 1200-1400.
