Hello all!! Id like to thank the 2 keto dudes…I love the podcasts!!
My name is Kate I’ve been keto for nearly 2 years…feeling great and many NSV
I’ve been stabilising at this weight for about 6 months…which is fine…im at the weight that in the past i just touch then go back up!!! So Im trusting my body has other healing to do.
I have been using fasting for preventive health and all the other good stuff…IR, weight loss and autophagy
lately ive been having a hard time fasting longer than 24 hours. I listened to the salt pod cast then actually measured out 2 tsp of salt…wow its nowhere near as much as the few pinches under my tongue that I usually take!!! also I get a lot of nausea when i fast makes it harder. SOOOO this time i got down most of the salt per day and added ginger root tea AND pulled off 5 effortless pleasurable days…zero nausea and tons of energy and zero hunger waves EVEN AT NIGHT !!! YAY
Looking forward to learning and contributing!!! Kate Toronto Canada

I’m so happy you shared your experience. I’m on my first 24+ hour fast and came running to the forum because I started experiencing nausea and a little lightheadedness. I find it quite easy to go for 24 hours but usually feel get food temptations around the 32-hour mark and succumb. This time I made it to 40 hours with keto coffee and half an avocado for each 24-hour period. I have also been eating himalayan salt in pinches after listening to the salt podcast. But reading your message it seems it wasn’t 2 tsps. I will also measure it out and try upping my salt consumption. I am hoping to make it to 60 hours.

I have a little bowl or baggie of pink himilayan salt crystals with me at all times during the fast. I suck on one or two crystals at a time followed by some water after they dissolve, whenever I think of it. I noticed if I let too much time go by (maybe an hour or more) without any salt I regret it (dizziness, hunger, or headache). I woke up this morning extremely dizzy, and wished I had remembered to put some salt next to my bed last night. It helps so much having this little bit of salt constantly through the fast.

That’s a great idea. In fact I had already started packing some right before I saw your message.

How life has changed! I used to have candy in a bowl on my desk and now I’ll have himalayan salt. The later is prettier.
