Newbie question?!

I started my weight loss journey exactly 30 days ago and have been doing pretty well. Lost 12 pounds just by changing my eating habits. I started Keto 7 days ago and have been doing pretty well. I even started working out twice a day but when I checked my weight today I gained 3 pounds?! Of course that was discouraging but also confusing. I kept my carb intake no more then 10g a day…

Thoughts? Am I doing something wrong?

Fluid fluctuations on a daily basis can vary a lot. If you’re a daily weigher, be aware of this and learn to be ok with it. If you’re not, I’d toss the scale. There are long threads on the scale debate.

I weigh myself every Friday , do you suggest I just take measurements and get rid of the scale?

Not going to recommend one way or another. I myself weigh daily. I like all the data points that it generates. I’m very data driven and this helps me maintain. Ymmv

I weigh weekly for recording purposes.
I weigh daily just out of interest. I was also quite alarmed at the variance. But once I realised that I was still losing on a weekly basis, it didn’t bother me being up for a day.

Females will fluctuate wildly depending on hormones / cycle, so I wouldn’t worry if your overall trend is downwards.

You are at the very beginning of your journey, I say ditch the scale for awhile!! It’s very easy to look at the numbers and get discouraged!! For right now focus on staying at or under 20 net carbs per day, and not stress so much over the scale!!! And then when you finally do weigh in, you will be pleasantly surprised!! Try to look at it more as getting healthy versus losing weight!! I hope this helps!! Good luck!!
