My name Is Michael my girlfriend and i are starting the keto diet. Can you use erythritol as a replacement for sugar? What are the best foods to do a clean keto. I see bacon is a big go to for keto. Looking for different options.

Erythritol is one of the best replacements but if you keep eating as many sweet things as you did, even with this replacement, you won’t lose your taste for them and likely maintain carb cravings.
All whole foods (most non-processed things) that are not high fructose or high starch are pretty good but some are better than others. Fatty meats (ribeye rather than filet, chicken thighs with skin rather than skinless breast, mackerel rather than cod, etc.) are better than lean in so much as you don’t need to add additional fats to get sufficient energy but if you don’t mind adding EVOO, ghee, etc. to things, eating high fat non-meat items like cheese, eggs, avocado, macadamias, etc. you can avoid the meats and still hit keto macros.
Keto is very pro-bacon partially because so many people love it, but also because bacon is one of the “macro-perfect” foods containing the keto balance of protein to fat with zero carbs. You don’t need to eat it to be keto.
Do the research, here or at places like DietDoctor.com or Ruled.me and make a meal plan that you can enjoy and stick to.
In addition to what Rob posted, as far as artificial sweeteners are concerned, be advised that any one of them can cause an insulin spike for somebody. It’s a completely individual reaction, and there’s no way to predict how you’re going to react; you have to experiment. The problem with an insulin spike is, of course, that the whole point of a well-formulated ketogenic diet is to keep insulin as low as possible, so that we can become fat-adapted and burn fat instead of sugar. High levels of insulin signal the body to burn sugar and store fat—the exact opposite of what we want!
