Newbie macro struggles

(DB1986) #1

Hi all - I’ve been strict keto since the end of September (70F:25P:5C)
Coming under my carbs has been surprisingly easy for me, it’s coming under my protein Macro im really struggling with.

I weigh everything and track every single thing I eat on Carb Manager app, so I know things aren’t out.

Anyone else struggle with this or have Any advice for me?

Thanks!

I also struggled with macros. I was often around 15%. Then i learned that i have to add more cheese, a steak of tuna or chicken meat to my dinner if i want to have ideal amount of protein at the end of the day. That’s my way to achieve the goal macros.
Hope i was helpful

It’s best to plan your day out and calculate your meals before you eat them. Eat as closely to the protein macro as possible and if you are still hungry, eat more fat.

I keep my carbs down and eat lots of meat while ignoring the protein macro, that’s my solution. The Ketogains macro calculator is also useful in this instance.

What @juice said
For me as well, I’m now ignoring the protein macros
I’m on total carb intake vs net ( to each their own) now
And just fattening up the fat macros

Always changing it up
Right now, This solution, really - really liking

Good luck

Avocados! Or guac. I use a whole head of romaine lettuce as a vehicle for guac & ranch dressing. Keeps me satiated until my protein heavy meal for the day. For snacks I’ve been having success with olives and pork rinds, although the pork rinds do have protein.

It’s fairly simple. Eat one third fat to two thirds meat, by weight. If in doubt, eat a little more fat.
