I know it’s super cliche, but I don’t really care. Jan 1 I will be celebrating two years with this WOE and I want to do a bit of a reset. In those two years my wife and I have both had job changes, lost family members, and had a baby amongst any other number of emotional/stressful situations. We’ve stayed low carb (I wouldn’t even know how to go back to eating pasta, bread, Candy, etc) but have both been slowly gaining. We want to go back to basics so to speak. Any suggestions on how to rekickstart the weight loss and change up a mindset that we’ve been eating “Keto” but still gaining? I don’t know if any of this makes sense but I’m just frustrated and need your help. Thanks. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them.
I’m also just finishing up a 10 day course of antibiotics for a 3 week sinus infection so my gut biome is likely about dead
New Years Keto reset
Hysterical, in a sarcastic way. A real play on and eat real food, not too much, mostly plants”.
Did you do any tracking when you were being really successful? Go back to those notes and duplicate the meals, eating windows or whatever you were using. You did this, you can do it again.
If not there are lots of meal planners for free on line try following one of those and if all else fails remember, bacon and eggs at each meal will get you keto clean again.
All the best on sorting it out. I’m sure stress has played a big part in the gains. Try to have a happy new year and get back to it.
Happy Hollies.
It seems it’s the only way I can lose weight I hate fasting but I know it’s effective and just have to buck up and do it.
I have been slowly going more and more off plan since almost 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I’m starting tomorrow on zero carb and will go for at least a couple weeks, just to reset. Like you, I haven’t eaten sugar or pasta, but have just been going more and more off the rails and honestly can’t wait to get back on track. I’m tired of my stomach hurting.
I hover around my goal weight and will start tacking on pounds if I’m not quite strict. But I too hate fasting and find that if I’m very careful about what I eat then I don’t have to fast. There are loads of things that will mess me up though. Can you tell us how you generally eat?
Number of meals? Timing? Any artificial sweeteners? Amount of dairy? Nuts, nut butters, and nut based flour recipes? Bullet proof coffees or teas? Protein powders and the like?
Yeah, I wasn’t sure how you felt about fasting but I thought I would throw it out there since it can be very effective for some. Myself included.
I’m totally starting solidly back to Keto leaning carnivore on the 26th. I have been eating way too many carbs. No Excuses just saying.
I find leaning carnivore helpful too. It’s got rid of nuts which were a food group that might as well have been carbs for the way my appetite reacts to them. I’m doing the same with dairy. No more of the softer, unripened cheeses or creams. They both lead to cravings for me.
