I’ve been on keto for about a week now, andit’s not too bad right now. I’m a full-time college student, and I go back in about 7 weeks. I plan on staying keto at least until I leave for school. But I want to have a crazy cheat day, no holding back. The means pizza, ice cream, cookies, and of course, donuts. I feel like it’d be fun to do after a 7-week trek. I know I’d probably feel sick, but I’m wondering about the progress-related effects of having a bunch of carbs after 7 weeks of keto. Will I be fat-adapted by then? Will I lose a lot of progress? Where do all the carbs go if I’m burning fat? Thanks.
New to keto, carb-filled cheat day?
Meh, after seven weeks, it’ll have minor effects, mainly a temporary weight increase consisting of water and glycogen. However, that my be offset by a giant case of diarrhea if you massively overdo it.
If you eat carbage as an accident, or in that way we all flawed humans err, keep calm and keto on. However, merely using the word “cheat,” raises concerns. May I suggest you better understand the medical science behind this way of eating? That food you list is a list of toxins, not delights.
Imagine a cheat day for an alcoholic.
Cheat days often turn into cheat weeks because they trigger carb cravings in most people.
I’ve learned the hard way!
Not sure what you’re getting at, I’m just wondering what the introduction of a substantial amount of carbs after 7 weeks of keto would do to my progress.
You may not be fat adapted at that point, which could hold up your process.
I cheated for two days in a row and I ended up craving sweets like crazy after and I had a heck of a time getting back into ketosis. It really wasn’t worth it to me.
It could be devastating or it could be nothing. It’s all up to you. We’re all different in countless ways. That said, I would never give such a question a green light.
This is my own experience- I was about 4 weeks into keto when my hubby and I went on our honeymoon in Vegas! Needless to say for 6 days I was off keto, I indulged in alcohol and lots of carbs. Once back home I went straight back on keto. I personally don’t believe this has slowed my progress as I have lost 41 lbs thus far. So this is MY experience and of course not everyone is the same, if you feel this is a good choice then enjoy
