New to Keto... any advice helps!

Dan, as someone who has a LOT of weight to lose, I admire that you went 3 months without loss and stayed the course! I might have faltered.

I never said “never” I said I’m not planning on… it’s been 5 weeks since I’ve touched a piece of bread, pasta, candy, chocolate, soda, etc… and I can say I don’t miss it at all! Matter of fact, just looking at it makes me gag! Strangest thing ever.

Paul, I am greatful for this forum where many before us have shared their experiences. Weight loss will absolutely not be linear or consistent. Be prepared for that! You can control your actions, but you don’t have direct control over how your metabolism chooses to respond. Keep calm and Keto on!

About 21 months. I stopped putting milk and sugar in my coffee years ago, and until I went keto, couldn’t stand it any way but black. On the suggestion of a post on these forums, however, I tried coffee with heavy cream, and it’s not bad! Couldn’t have done that before keto! (I still prefer black coffee, though.)

In addition, giving up sugar completely has made some fundamental changes in how things taste. Even 6 months ago, I couldn’t eat unsweetened chocolate without adding heavy cream and stevia, it was too bitter. Now I have plain unsweetened, and enjoy it. Likewise, the Greek yoghurt that used to taste too bitter to be tolerable without some stevia now tastes lovely, and regular, unsweetened whole-milk yoghurt tastes a bit too sweet. Go figure!
