New to Keto, Acne Question (3)

(NP) #1

Hello, I am new to Keto and this forum. I’ve been reading as much as I can but I thought I’d give it a shot and ask some particular questions about my case specifically. This question is on acne control.

I have been intermittent fasting (16:8) for about 3 months now (skipping breakfast). It’s been working well for me, no major weight loss (probably because of lack of consistency). My goals are weightloss, becoming more athletic, and managing my acne.

I am trying to take control of my overall health and started to learn about the benefits of a plant-based diet. I have not committed to being vegetarian or vegan, but I did try to lower my meat intake and processed products. Keto made me buy loads of cheese, pork, and heavy cream… which I’ve avoided for most of my life. Is it healthy to eat this much bacon and cheese?? I love eggs and avocados so I don’t have any problem eating that. But it just feels wrong to add bacon and dressing to my salads…

I think wheat is thought to play a major factor in acne/skin health.

I’m not sure you’ve actually asked a question about acne.

Yes.

That’s a good sign.

In a good way. :+1:

Wheat makes me break out terribly. Bacon and cream cheese are great for my complexion.

I realize I wasn’t very clear in my question in relation to acne. But thank you for responding!
