Saying Hello! I’m about to turn 56 Female, been keto this time for about 6 months. Lost over 100lbs 6 1/2 years ago basically using low carb. Was keto once before to try and help a cancer diagnosis, (still ticking, obviously). I’m a gym rat and I love the keto lifestyle. Happy to be part of a community! Not easy being out in a world of carb-eating friends and family. I’m thin and fit now. It’s always “C’mom have this piece of cookie/cake it won’t kill you, you only live once” (lol). I belong to a high end gym, where I’ve heard instructors talk about that “fad” Keto diet. I just keep my mouth shut, smile look in the mirror and say, uh yea fad. It is a little lonely out there! So I’m happy to be here, encourage anyone on their pursuit to happiness and find any new info.

Hope I can figure this forum thing out!

Yeah, this ridiculous fad is making people lean and healthy and energetic. And after four years of this fad I can also tell you it is unsustainable.

Hey there, I am new to the forum thing too and have done the keto thing a few times back and forth and have always had good success when I stick to it. The first time I ever tried keto was about 6 years ago and I was in my early 30s, Wow, did the weight come off and super fast too…but then as usual, I let it creep back up and down and up again. I’m about to be 40 in February and I refuse to be 30 lbs heavier than I want to be…I feel defeated but I know that I can lose the weight and be successful on keto . Keto is what works for my body and I know that I will feel and look better…it’s just the starting over part and getting started part that’s hard. But that’s why I am trying this forum…to get support and advice and feedback from fellow keto’ers.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome Aboard @lwk1219 ! Good job resisting the carb pushers!

And try to think about the job security for the poor personal trainers. They would be much better off without all this unsustainable keto nonsense where people are all fabricating good weight loss and biomarker results!

Not to mention the CEO’s of companies that make diabetes medicine or weight-loss products. How are they going to be able to afford their big bonuses if we don’t do our part by remaining sick and needing their products? :grinning:

Welcome! I can tell you from my short experience here, that they are a lovely group of people and you’ll enjoy being a part of it.

As for you wanting to learn more info, there’s tons and tons on old posts/topics if you use the search feature. And even better - the members are fountains of wisdom any time you post your own specific question. Supper supportive and friendly and encouraging to the max.

All the best!

Well, given that within the normal circadian rhythm, your basal insulin is highest in the evening, I’d recommend one meal a day, no later than sun down. :face_with_monocle::thinking::rofl:
