Hello, Has anyone seen this new study out?

Thanks,

Interesting that Taubes funded the NuSi. Surprising results.

I’m not surprised at the results at all - in a controlled environment, every diet is capable of weight loss.

Each group was told to either restrict carbs to 20g/day or fat to 20g/day - just by doing that alone, it seriously limits your choices for what you can eat. Probably less so for the carb-eaters, but still probably enough to limit choices down to where people probably ate the same boring stuff day after day.

Also, when you’re in a study, you know you’re being watched. Show me a dog that doesn’t want to please its owner

I honestly believe every “Diet” focused on weight loss will work if you follow it to the letter. Most of them simply restrict calories enough to induce weight loss - but they rarely address the problem of hunger the way Keto/LCHF does. I’ll bet if you asked each group of study participants about their daily hunger level, you’d get vastly different answers from each group.

Talked to death…

I am imagining some holes in the study that slip my mind
presently. I have been keto and or just low carb since 2014. I
have been going back and forth on the importance of fiber for the
last couple of years. I wonder if our bodies like to shift from
high to low fiber on occasion.

I think I read that it is important for the health of our gut biome

Yes mam that is true. However there are some on the low carb
spectrum who do not do too well on them.

I had pinto beans last night and a few nights previously. They

were delicious and I felt that by not having them for such a long
time my body was missing out on some important food type. Eating
them just felt like the right thing to do.
